AKSHOUHINI SENA

The Epic Mahabharatha says that 18 Akshouhini sena has been participated in the war of Mahabharatha, now lets know everything which includes Akshouhini sena

In any war the 4 different forces are considered, which are Chariots, Elephants, Horses and infantry[ soldiers] which is also called Chaturanga Balam, which means The four fold division of the army  

  

1 Chariot + 1 Elephant + 3 Horses + 5 Soldiers = 1 PATTHI

3 * [ PATTHI ] = 1 SENAMUKHA =  3 Chariots + 3 Elephant + 9 Horses + 15 Soldiers

3 * [ SENAMUKHA ] = 1 GULMA =  9 Chariot + 9 Elephant + 27 Horses + 45 Soldiers

3 * [ GULMA ] =  1 GANAM = 27 Chariot + 27 Elephant + 81 Horses + 135 Soldiers

3 * [ GANAM ] =  1 VAHINI = 81 Chariot + 81 Elephant + 243 Horses + 405 Soldiers

3 * [ VAHINI ] =  1 PRUTHANA = 243 Chariot + 243 Elephant + 729 Horses + 1215 Soldiers

3 * [ PRUTHANA ] =  1 CHAMUVU = 729 Chariot + 729 Elephant + 2187 Horses + 3645 Soldiers

3 * [ CHAMUVU ] =  1 ANIKINI = 2187 Chariot + 2187 Elephant + 6561 Horses + 10935 Soldiers

10 * [ ANIKINI ] =  1 AKSHOUHINI = 21,870 Chariot +  21,870 Elephant + 65,610 Horses + 1,09,350 Soldiers

Now we know,  1 AKSHOUHINI = 21,870 Chariots +  21,870 Elephants + 65,610 Horses + 1,09,350 Soldiers, Like this 18 Akshouhini sena participated in Mahabharatha war.

18 AKSHOUHINI = 3,93,660 Chariots + 3,93,660 Elephants + 11,80,980 Horses + 19,68,300 Soldiers

And remember that on each Chariot there will be 1 Warrior and 1 Rider, then total

Chariot force [Ratha Balam] = 7,87,320.

Similarly, each Elephant has 2 persons, 1 Warrior and 1 Rider, then total

Elephant force [Gaja Balam] = 7,87,320.

Then the total 18 AKSHOUHINI = 47,23,920 persons + Elephants and Horses.

From the total of 18 Akshouhini Sena, the Pandavas fought with 7 AKSHOUHINI where Kauravas with 11 AKSHOHINI in the war of Kurukshetra. And only few people was alive after the war completed.

Many people think that why Sri Krishna being an Incarnation and Lord Vishnu himself made this destruction happen, If you know the reason for Krishna Incarnation, then you will know  that one of the reason for Lord Krishna incarnation is to remove the Bhubharam, burden of earth or Bhudevi. The burden to earth [bhubharam] is said to be increased only when there is an increase of the people who perform Adharma practices.

Now lets continue further, and jump to Tretha Yug

8 AKSHOHINI = 1 EKAM

8 EKAM = 1 KOTI [ different from usual crore value what we use ]

8 KOTI = 1 SHANKAM

8 SHANKAM = 1 KUMUDAMU

8 KUMUDAMU = 1 SAMUDRAM

8 SAMUDRAM = 1 VELLUVA = 366917139200 ie., Three hundred sixty six billion, nine hundred seventeen million, one hundred thirty nine thousand two hundred.

In Kamba Ramayanam [ there are different versions of Ramayanams, this is one of them] it is said that the Vanara king Sugreeva has 70 VELLUVA = 256842399744000 [Two hundred fifty-six trillion eight hundred fourty-two billion three hundred ninety-nine million seven hundred fourty-four thousand] of Vanara Sena or Soldiers who helped Lord Rama in constructing the bridge and in the war with Ravana, the king of Lanka.
